Freddy's Golf Tips
Topic: Have a good ‘set’ position at the top of your back swing
Tip: This tip is the next step in creating a consistent swing. As you set the club in the back swing, think of pointing your left thumb up over you right shoulder (left thumb over the left shoulder for those lefty’s) as you set the wrist. This move is usually happens when the hand position gets to be about waist high. The next move is get your hand position high or above the shoulders. I like to see the player’s hand position above the right shoulder ( left shoulder for the lefty’s). The angle of the player’s shaft at the top of the swing should be pointing slightly left of the target. You may need a friend’s help to confirm the position. This position allows the player to bring the club on an inside plane through impact. So Remember: Thumbs up & hands high & away from the shoulder on your backswing / takeaway.
